VASCULAR AND VENOUS DISEASES

The consultation for vascular surgery at the DERMATOLOGIKUM HAMBURG deals with the diagnostics and treatment of venous and arterial circulatory disorders according to the guidelines of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gefäßchirurgie und Phlebologie [German Association of Vascular Surgery and Phlebology].

The department is led by experienced specialists in vascular surgery and patients are cared for by a team specially trained in vascular surgical treatments. The outpatient consultation and small procedures are performed at the DERMATOLOGIKUM HAMBURG, operations are performed at a state-of-the-art and centrally located surgical center.

The vascular department at the DERMATOLOGIKUM HAMBURG is a center for the treatment of varicose vein disorders using radio frequency catheter (VNUS ClosureFAST TM). Here we currently perform the highest number of radiofrequency catheter vascular surgeries per year in all of Europe. This procedure is minimally invasive without incisions and scars. Bruising and pain are rare, as the catheter does not injure any veins.

On the day of the operation – at the latest on the following day – patients can resume their typical daily routines. Periods of disability are typically eliminated. This surgical procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic as well under partial or general anaesthetic, as an outpatient or inpatient procedure.
