Focus of general dermatology |
The appearance of the skin is often closely linked to a person's emotional state. On one hand a skin ailment can impact psychological wellbeing, on the other mental factors can have a detrimental impact on the condition of the skin. As an organ of sense and touch the skin has a significant affect on our self and external perception and marks our individuality.
We particularly consider this connection during our psychosomatic dermatology consultation during which all patients are cared for by a specialist with special training in the field of psychosomatic dermatology. Individual consultations e.g. regarding strategies for dealing with a skin disorder often already help greatly. Occasionally short-term or long-term psychotherapy is required.
